the wedding yesterday was simply beautiful. a friendship of 15 years that culminated in a wedding of 2 hearts, 2 lives.. this really jus shows how God can work in our lives, and make it more meaningful and beautiful through bringing people who love us, for us to love, into our lives.
i had the honor of being a "Brother" for the day.. although Derrick's friends really made me rethink what role that really is.. helping or otherwise? hmm. haha. the church wedding was lovely, in spite of all the hectic-ness. the dinner, though my 3rd one at Novotel this year, was the icing that topped the cake.
when i walked out and shook Derrick's hand at the end, he hugged me tightly and whispered to tell me to approach him anytime i need help. i nearly teared on the spot.
where else can u find friends who remember u, ur hurts and ur plight, at the height of their happiness? in God's family, of cos! worldly friends may only remember u when they need help, when they're desperate.. not God's children! we have an Almighty Who constantly looks out and cares for us, and causes friends to remind us of His love.
thank you, Derrick. truly.. take time to love, and be loved. you are one of God's gifts that i treasure a lot.
i'm running on low.. dangerously close to empty.
